The plaid side features 100% cotton reactive digital printed pattern. Cotton digital printing requires very high precision; ordinary digital printers can have color calibration errors. Only imported Korneli digital printers can minimize color matching errors. To achieve the best quality, the printing cost is 35 per meter. After printing, the fabric is softened and washed to ensure a soft feel. Without a strong enough color fastness, washing wouldn't be attempted. The garment is cut by hand using infrared alignment to ensure that the collar and sleeves and side seams perfectly match the plaid—batch cutting cannot achieve this precise alignment. Cutting is very time-consuming. After cutting, the collar and cuffs are reinforced with a layer of stiff cotton and then pressed with semi-finished samples (sized as needed) to hold their shape. Each piece has to be ironed and set one by one at high temperature. Although the shirt may look simple, each small step is very tedious and requires unseen handcrafted effort.
